Wednesday, September 25.

Well survived the 66th birthday yesterday. Good thing is that was able to celebrate it, many don’t.

Reno’s still ongoing, finished off guttering today.

I know, at this age shouldn’t be up there but job done.

Thursday we headed off to Market Drayton in Shropshire to visit Don and Barbara Collins from our Rotary club in Shepp. They have a house there and alternate between here and Aus on a regular basis.

Trip down was horrendous. Worst rain I have ever driven in. Walls of water coming down, lots of standing water on the motorway, but the traffic kept going at 70 mph. No where to pull off, just grit your teeth and pray.

Great lunch and company and offer to use their house when ever we want.

They had this great poster on the wall. Will look into getting one back in Aus.

Trip back was much better, only the sporadic downpour. I love driving, but can tell you I was never so glad to be home.

Friday the carpet later came to lay the tile. Outstanding effort, was in and out in an hour and a half.

Off to Jo’s, the publican, house for farewell dinner tonight. Over the last six years, we have been accepted as part of the village.
