RING OF KERRY.

Friday, July 20.

Woke up this morning, there was something on my mind. Or should I say, people from the other side of the world began messaging at 12.30 am, the phones did not stop ringing for three hours, then 1st air rang around 1.30am. That’s right, it is Su’s birthday, big one to.

HAPPY 60th Su.πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Collected by bus to be taken on a trip around the Ring of Kerry, a large peninsular, which juts into the Atlantic Ocean.

Looking up the high street of Killarney.

Is this our bus? Birthday girl and Linda.

Our chariot for the day.

St Margarets Cathedral in Killarney.

Passed through Kells, crossing a lovely bridge.

And some great looking buildings.

Stopped at the Famine village.

Next stop was Galhersiveen, where we could see Dingle Peninsula through the mist on Dingle Bay.

Sneen for lunch, and scenery if the mist rises.

Pair of happy campers.

Can still keep an eye on them.

Stopped off at a sheep farm where he had a collection of different sheep, and two doge who were amazing.

Mist rolling in again. After all the great weather I suppose it had to happen.

Sea mist descending.

St Brendan and his monks on their voyage.

Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty, Ireland’s Schindler. He was responsible for smuggling thousands out of Germany during the war.

Couple of local legends from Kenmore, the second bring very recognisable.

Lovely wild flowers.

That mist is fighting to hang around.

Little church on a cliff top in the middle of nowhere.

Great views from Ladies View looking down Loch Leane.

Stopped for a coffee, where the water last year was 5 metres higher. They need rain.

Molls gap.

No, not bagpipes. This young fella is playing highland pipes.

Dropped off at camp ground. We all had 40 winks before catching a taxi into O’Hallorans Bar to continue the birthday girls day and listen to some traditional Irish music.

What a great night and day. Su celebrated well. It has been a long one. Off to Doolin tomorrow.
