Saturday, September 12.

Off to the ruins of Pompeii for the second time this year. Still amazing, and we visited the Villa dei Misteri which houses the most amazing frescos, and was not open last time. It had its own orchard and winery, although those growing there now would not have survived the eruption.

Following the ruins we had lunch and then caught the bus to Mt Vesuvius, which was still smoking by the way. 

    
    

Walk down and bus back to camp. Saw this cute motorbike on way to dinner. 

    
  

On arriving back at Myrtle, we discovered that we had ants. Some dick had parked under a sugar gum and the leaves were touching the top of Myrtle. Quick dash to the supermarket for surface spray and removal of offending branch. Removed the majority of the ants, but it would be a few days before they were all gone.🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
