ROAD TO EDINBURGH

Wednesday, August 8.

Well after a week of relaxing and recuperation we are on the road again. No one has been sick, just ten weeks on the go with first Phil and then Linda travelling with us, we needed a rest. We did enjoy having them with us though. First time for Phil outside Australia, and second year in a row with Linda. We are blessed.

Have not been all resting though. Bess off for a service and touch up. Finished off the Perry’s kitchen.

Went down to Tiberum in Norfolk for the World Vintage Glider Rally, and catch up with Jenny and David Goldsmith from our gliding days at Bridgewater near Bendigo.

Oh, and look at some lovely old wooden gliders.

David strapping in.

Jenny ready to go.

Hey Don, saw this on the wall in the clubhouse. Not a bad price either.

Great to catch up with the Goldsmiths. Dinner while watching a lovely Norfolk sunset.

Today we headed north to Edinburgh, with Lynton and Sarah heading off to Aus on Friday for his mums 90th birthday. Happy birthday Edith. Well done.

On the way we stopped in at Thornton Le Dale to visit Sarah’s dad, Mike and Shirley. It was show day, so off we went for a look. We have been to the show before and they are vastly different from ours. Emphasis is on doing, agriculture and animals. Here are some shots from the craft pavilion where Sarah’s nieces starred again.

Shirley and Betty too. Some very impressive walking sticks.

Such an array of crafts.

Great action in the main ring.

Cute coffee van.

Wouldn’t be England without the hounds.

What a great afternoon. No noisy sideshow alley with speakers blaring out. A village of 800 people and 15,000 at the show.

Said our goodbyes to Mike and Shirley and headed for Edinburgh.
